How do I start?

It is very simple, Click 'Get in Touch' and complete our contact form or send me a direct message on one of the Skirmish counselling social media platforms (Click Icons above). I will then aim to get back to you with 24-48 hours to schedule an initial consultation, either via telephone call or in person.

What is an initial consultation?

This is a session, lasting approximately 30 minutes in which you (The client) and I discuss the counselling process, needs or goals for you in therapy and session plan before finally agreeing a set day and time slot for your therapy. You will also be provided with a contract providing you with important details in relation to confidentiality and privacy, cancellation policy, and more.

How Much Does Therapy Cost?

I offer Face to Face and telephone therapy which are £50.00 per session. I do offer sliding scale and concession prices which can be explained further at initial consultation.

It’s impossible to say in advance how much counselling & psychotherapy will cost in total because there are multiple factors to consider during the counselling process. This can be explained more fully at initial consultation.

If you need to put a limit on your overall cost, it is possible to agree on a specific focus for therapy and agree on reasonable expectations in terms of results. To be clear though, no therapist can ever guarantee a resolution.

How long is a counselling session?

A session typically lasts around 50 minutes. Most session plans are 4-6 sessions, however each client and myself will complete dynamic assessments to see how many sessions are suitable, required and appropriate for them.

Will it be private & confidential?

The answer is Yes. There are, however, some exceptions to privacy & confidentiality. For example, these include disclosures about serious criminal behaviour and intent to harm either yourself or another. Case work is also discussed with a dedicated and independent Clinical Supervisor to ensure that the therapist is ethically & legally compliant and providing optimal services that are in the best interests of the client.A counsellor should always discuss exceptions to private & confidential practice with you before the course of therapy begins.

What is skirmish counselling's style?

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I use techniques and knowledge gained from a variety of modalities such as CBT, Rogerian/person-centred and psychodynamic therapies. This means that every client receives individually tailored therapy to their needs. My goal is to create a calm, therapeutic space in which every client feels comfortable to be open, reflective and importantly, be themselves. You are the expert in 'yo' and I want to get to know you, this will allow us to work better, as a partnership.
